The count down for the first day of school has begun! August 22 will be here before we know it. The Welcome PTA couldn't wait that long. Did you know we already had our first officer's meeting for the 2017-2018 school year? Yep, we met today, weeks before school even starts for teachers!
We were pleased to meet Welcome's new Assistant Principal, Mrs. Gilliard today at the meeting. She and Principal Ketron were very kind to take time and speak with us today. We love that they share our enthusiasm and support for the school and the kids, our kids! We really appreciate their willingness to work with us, make suggestions, and listen to feedback. There were a TON of things to discuss, plans to make, ideas to go over today. This website (and blog) are a direct result of today's discussion, brain-storming, and suggestions. We hope you like it and return again and again. We want the site to be a useful tool for you to be provided with updates, to sign up for events, and to see how the money, time, and effort of our PTA work to impact the school and each child's success!
We are SO excited to have events that will help improve the 2017-2018 school year. Please support us with your membership this year. We can't be your voice if you don't! Our goal is to be able to say "Welcome Elementary loves it's kids so much that "All hands are 100% involved". One way to do this is to have 100% support from parents, teachers, and administrators in joining the PTA.
We know our kids don't just have parental support, so the Welcome PTA is an opportunity for the long list of Devoted Parents, Loving Grandparents, Involved Guardians, Enthusiastic Aunts, Unique Uncles, Terrific Teachers, Supportive Instructors, Caring Coaches, Valuable Volunteers, and Big-hearted Businesses to get involved! All are welcome and encouraged to join our PTA. As always, active participation is not required but we want your opinions to be heard!

¡Ha comenzado la cuenta atrás para el primer día de escuela! 22 de Agosto estará aquí antes que nos demos cuenta. La PTA de Welcome que no podía esperar mucho. ¿Sabías que ya teníamos reunión de nuestro primer oficial para el año 2017-2018? Sí, nos reunimos hoy, semanas antes de la escuela incluso para profesores!
Nos complació conocer nuevo Subdirector de bienvenida, Sra. Gilliard hoy en la reunión. Ella y Principal Ketron fueron muy amables a tiempo y hablar con nosotros hoy. ¡Nos encanta compartir nuestro entusiasmo y apoyo para la escuela y los niños, nuestros niños!
