We understand. You work hard for your money. Why should you give it to the PTA? Your time is precious to you. Why should you volunteer? What is the PTA? Why does the school even have a PTA? Can't teacher's just do everything? Why should you join?
These are all good questions, and we are here to help you understand the importance of PTA!
We aren't just some group of nosey mama's! We are parents volunteering, problem solving, helping, and impacting what can be accomplished at Welcome Elementary beyond just education.
Funds go towards things like field trips, dances, and supplies.
Volunteers help make copies, decorate, read, file, rally for business donations and network to ensure needs are met and teachers can focus on teaching.
The school has a PTA because the administrators value the opinions of those who take care of the children beyond school. PTA meetings are a way for parents, teachers, and administrators to have a dialogue about needs the school has and solve the for the benefit of the students.
Our teachers are really great at Welcome Elementary! They want what is best for every child, but they can't do it all... imagine if your job made you accountable for 10-20 other people every day. Yet, our teacher's love what they do. We want to ensure they have a support system that allows them to be the best for their students, so we are happy to help and give a little thank you now and again <3
As for why should you join? For the same reasons WE did: for the kids!
